THE BEST ROCK 'N' ROLL POLITICAL SONGS

Mercifully, the 2016 presidential campaign is coming to an end. As a not-so-fond farewell, I compiled a playlist of sixteen of the greatest political rock songs. They're presented in no particular order. It was difficult enough limiting myself to just one tune each by Dylan, the Clash and Springsteen. Ranking the songs is beyond my abilities. As always, I welcome your feedback. What are the unforgivable omissions?

This playlist is available on Spotify.

1.  “I Am A Patriot” by Little Steven

2.  “Killing In The Name” by Rage Against The Machine (put the earbuds in at work for this one!)

3. “Hate & War” by The Clash

4. “Imagine” by John Lennon

5.  “Respect” by Aretha Franklin

6. “Factory” by Bruce Springsteen

7. “Sunday Bloody Sunday” by U2

8.  “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding” cover by Shovels & Rope

9.  “Fortunate Son” by Creedence Clearwater Revival

10. “Seven Curses” by Bob Dylan

11.  “Bonzo Goes To Bitburg” by The Ramones
